Title:
ELECTROCHEMICAL MEASUREMENT SENSOR MEASURING CONCENTRATION OF NITROGEN OXIDE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004053607
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a measurement sensor with simple structure and a reduced manufacturing cost.

An electrochemical measurement sensor measures the concentration of a gas to be measured, for example, a nitrogen oxide in the exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine of an automobile. There is provided a first pump cell (12) that is arranged on the solid electrolyte of oxygen ion conductivity and solid electrolyte, and includes a pair of electrodes (20, 21) to which a first pump voltage (U1) is applied, and then the gas to be measured is applied to the first electrode (20) of the electrodes (20, 21) over a diffusion section. There is provided the second pump cell (13) that is arranged in the rear of the first pump cell (12) in a gas stream direction and on the solid electrolyte of oxygen ion conductivity and corresponding solid electrolyte, and includes a pair of electrodes (22, 23) to which a second pump voltage (U2) is applied. The electrochemical measurement sensor includes the second pump cell (13) having the first electrode (22) of the electrodes (22, 23) exposed to gas capacity generated from the first pump cell (12) and the second electrode (23) exposed to a reference gas.Therein the second electrode (21) of the first pump cell (12) is also exposed to the reference gas.
