A

PURPOSE: To provide a novel compound useful for detection of enterotoxins and germs as an electrochemiluminescent labeling reagent.

CONSTITUTION: This compound is represented by the formula: X-Y-Z [wherein X is a nucleotide, antibody, analyzing substance or the like; Y is a linker group having C atoms; and Z is formula I or II (wherein R is an anion, and (n) is an integer) or the like]. The compound is obtained by reacting chemical species emitting electrochemiluminescence such as bis(2,2'-bipyridine) [4-(4-methyl-2,2'- bipyridine-4'-yl)butyric-acid]ruthenium(II)dihexafluorophosphate, and an X compound such as digoxigenin in the presence of 1,3-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide in pyridine anhydride.
