PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical device excellent in both low temperature characteristics and high temperature reliability.SOLUTION: An electrochemical device 1 includes a container 10, a power storage element B provided in the container 10, and having electrode layers 22, 32 of a positive electrode 20 and a negative electrode 30, and a nonaqueous electrolyte provided in the container 10, where an electrolyte containing a lithium salt is dissolved into a nonaqueous solvent mainly containing a cyclic ester and a cyclic carbonate ester, and added with a sulfonic acid ester derivative having a reduction potential higher than those of the cyclic ester and a cyclic carbonate ester.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
