Abstract:
To provide an electrode catalyst which can exhibit a satisfactory performance when being used in a fuel battery.SOLUTION: An electrode catalyst comprises: a catalyst component including a first transition metal M1 and a second transition metal M2 as constituent elements; and a conductive material. The electrode catalyst is in the form of a particle containing the first transition metal M1, the second transition metal M2, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and sulfur as constituent elements, of which the hydrogen and nitrogen contents are both smaller than 1%. On the surface of the particle, sulfide of the first transition metal M1 and the second transition metal M2 in the form of metal are observed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
