Abstract:

To improve power generation performance under both high humidification and low humidification operating conditions.SOLUTION: A first electrode catalyst layer 20 includes catalyst-supporting particles 21 having a hydrophobic coating, a polymer electrolyte 22, and a hydrophilized carbon fiber 23 with an average fiber length of 0.7 μm or more and 20 μm or less. The catalyst-supporting particles 21 include a carrier and a catalyst supported on the carrier. When the content of the carrier is 100 parts by mass, the content of the hydrophilized carbon fibers 23 is 5 parts by mass or more and 30 parts by mass or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
