Abstract:
PURPOSE: To shorten an electrode connection time and also facilitate the automation of electrode connection by rotating a rotation mount supporting a screw apparatus and gripping a new electrode by a grip apparatus attached to this rotation mount.
CONSTITUTION: A rotation mount 30 is rotated to grip a new electrode 41 on an electrode stand. A screw apparatus 40 is lowered by an elevation drive apparatus 60 to screw a screw fitting in the upper end part of the electrode 41. At that time, the whirl-stop of the electrode 41 is made by a grip apparatus 70. After the screw fitting 42 is screwed, the rotation mount 30 is rotated to move the electrode 41 to the directly upper part of an electrode 9 in use. The swinging of the electrode 41 can be prevented by gripping the electrode 41 by the grip apparatus 70 during this rotation, to perform quick aligning. The electrode 41 together with the apparatus 40 is lowered by the apparatus 60 after the gripping by the apparatus 70 is released in this aligning condition, and the electrode 41 is made screw motion to screw a nipple 41a screwed in the lower end part of the electrode 41 into the connection hole of the electrode 9.
