PURPOSE: To make the distribution of temperature of molten slat uniform by forming plural slits on a flat board-shaped or cylindrical consumable electrode for dissolving electroslag in the direction oblique to that of consumption of the electrode, thereby homogenizing the structure of an ingot and improving the casting surface.
