Title:
ELECTRODE FOR ELECTRIC DISCHARGE MACHINING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5676341
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To manufacture an electrode easily by a method wherein a conductive material formed by iron or a light alloy, etc. in a desired shape is coated with a nickel-tungesten alloy poor in consumption quantity.

CONSTITUTION: An electrode for electric discharge machining is made by attaching and fixing a nickel-tungsten coating layer 2 to the surface of a conductive material 1 which can be put easily into a desired shape by machining or forging, etc. and is inexpensive. In this way, since the shape of an electrode as an electrical discharge machining electrode can be easily obtained, an inexpensive material can be used and the surface thereof is covered with a nickel-tungsten alloy poor in Consumption of an electrode, said electrode is easy for manufacturing and economical.
