To provide a long-life electrode which can be used for electroplating, cathodic protection, electrolytic winning, metal recovery, water treatment, functional water synthesis, sea water decomposition, water electrolysis, salt decomposition and electrolytic synthesis or the like and can suppress consumption of various additives by improving reaction selectivity, and has excellent physical property.
The electrochemical electrode is formed by bonding an inorganic porous body 4 containing an organosilicon compound having an ion exchange group to an electrolytic base material 1 having a catalytic layer 2 using low softening point glass 3 as an adhesive. Since the low softening point glass is used as the adhesive, the bonding property of the electrode base material to the inorganic porous body is made excellent and the reaction selectivity is imparted by the ion exchange group.
