PURPOSE: To enable the dimensional accuracy of each part of an electrode for an electron gun to be easily achieved by unifying a pair of cuplike parts, which are provided with electron beam passing holes, with a disk-like part which is provided with holes corresponding to the said beam passing holes and is interposed between the said cup-like parts.
CONSTITUTION: An electrode for an electron gun is constituted by interposing a disk-like part 17, which has a larger outer diameter than parts 11 and 12 and is provided with holes 18 corresponding to beam passing holes 13 of the parts 11 and 12, between a pair of opposed cup-like parts 11 and 12 each having three electron beam passing holes 13 forming an electron lens. In constituting the above electrode, the part 12 is inserted into a jig 21 by engaging guide pins 24 in the holes 13 of the jig 21, the part 17 is positioned on the part 12, the part 11 is positioned on the part 17, and all these parts 12, 17 and 11 are unified together by welding their joint parts. By the means mentioned above, the mechanical strength of the electrode can be increased by increasing the thickness of the part 17, and the accuracy of each part can be easily enhanced.
