To provide an electrode-less discharge lamp lighting device capable of surely starting up an electrode-less discharge lamp with a simple and low-cost structure with little stress on a power conversion circuit, a resonance circuit and an induction coil.
The device is provided with a control circuit 8 detecting a voltage or a current of the induction coil 2 or the power conversion circuit 3 arranged in the vicinity of the electrode-less discharge lamp 1, and changing drive frequencies of switching elements Q1, Q2 of the power conversion circuit 3 by a drive circuit 5 according to the values detected and an output value of a reference value generating means, of which, the control circuit 8 is provided with a plurality of feedback systems FB1, FB2, FB3, ..., FBn and a selection means 9 for selecting from the plurality of feedback systems, and the selection means 9 is to select the feedback system in accordance with a state of the electrode-less discharge lamp 1 at start-up.
