Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode line for wire discharge machining having a uniform irregular shape on the surface thereof and a method of manufacturing the electrode line capable of easily provided the electrode line for wire discharge machining.
SOLUTION: An irregular processing is applied to the surface of a metal base material line 4, and a dissimilar material is filled into the recessed part 3 of the metal base material line. Then, the metal base material lien 4 is extended and contracted in diameter so as to form a metal line 2 having a line diameter of 0.05 to 0.5 mm, and the dissimilar material in the recessed part 3 of the metal lien 2 is removed. By this, the extension of the line can be performed uniformly while the shape of projected parts on the surface is maintained. Thus, an electrode line 1 for wire discharge machining having a uniform irregular shape on the surface thereof can be provided easily.
