Abstract:

To provide a novel electrode material for a magnesium ion secondary battery, which is safe as well as low in cost and with which high energy density can be expected.

An electrode material for a magnesium ion secondary battery comprises an analog of Prussian blue represented by: M[Fe(CN)6]x-nH2O (where, M represents transition metal selected from the group consisting of Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn, and x and n satisfy x=0.6-0.8 and n=1-6, respectively.). An electrode for a magnesium ion secondary battery contains the electrode material as an electrode active material. A magnesium ion secondary battery includes the electrode.
