To solve a problem that adhesion strength between a silicon thin film and a metal foil which is used as a current collector is reduced as a result of variations in the surface shape of the metal foil before and after the treatment when carrying out a cleaning treatment at the time of forming the thin films on the surface of the metal foil used as the current collector.
In an electrode for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery which is provided with the electric current collector and the thin film composed of an active material that is deposited on the current collector and stores/releases lithium electrochemically or chemically, the current collector is made to be constituted to the electrode for the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery composed of the metal foil having a surface treated by electron beam irradiation prior to the deposit of the thin film.
