Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase tight adhesion between an active material and a collector, to suppress swelling of electrolytic liquid at a high temperature and to provide a sufficient practical performance by making a binder contained together with a battery active material of a copolymer body containing a polymerization unit based on tetrafluoroethylene, a polymerization unit based on isobutylene and a polymerization unit based on propylene. SOLUTION: Copolymer preferably contains polymerization units of 20 to 80 mol.%, 5 to 50 mol.% and 5 to 30 mol.% based on tetraethylene, isobutylene and propylene. Further, 10 mol.% or lower of a polymerization unit based on olefin containing fluorine or hydrocarbon olefin is contained. Preferably, a binder using a mixture of one, two or more kinds of the copolymers is included in the positive and/or negative electrode of a non-aqueous lithium secondary battery. Setting of 1 to 20 pts.wt. of the binder with respect to 100 pts.wt. of the battery active material is good for an electrode strength, a adhesion strength with a metallic collector and an excessive voltage.
