To effectively prevent the formation of an acute angle or a thin portion where an electric field concentration easily occurs on the side edge of an electrode to be patterned on a substrate surface in a method of manufacturing an electrode plate.
First, an insulating substrate 10 and conductive paste 12 having a lyophobic property against a substrate surface 10a are prepared. A patterning member 16 having pattern forming elements 14 for defining a predetermined pattern is also prepared. Then, surface treatment for modifying the lyophobic property against the conductive paste 12 into lyophilic property is applied to a predetermined region 18 of the substrate surface 10a along the pattern forming elements 14 of the patterning member 16. Then, the conductive paste 12 is applied to a modified region 20 of the substrate surface 10a where the surface treatment is applied along the pattern forming elements 14 of the patterning member 16. Then, the conductive paste 12 applied to the modified region 20 is dried and cured to form a plurality of electrodes 22 on the substrate surface 10a on the pattern defined by the pattern forming elements 14.
