Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode strip disposed after one time of use by providing a printed layer having an enzyme containing a substrate to serve as a medium for reaction and a mediator generating a current which represents the compounds in a liquid mixture in an active electrode.
SOLUTION: A long supporting member is detachable attached to a signal reading circuit, and the first conductor is extended along it, and an active electrode which, while containing to it, contacts to a liquid mixture is provided. The second conductor is connected to the reading circuit, being extended along the supporting member, and a reference electrode, while contacting to it, which contacts to the liquid mixture is provided. The active electrode has a printed layer of the area less than about 25mm2 on the supporting member, and the printed layer comprises an enzyme which, containing a substrate, is to be a medium for reaction and an mediator which, representing a compound in the liquid mixture, generates a current. The first conductor and the active electrode are away from the second conductor and the reference electrode, so that these electrodes are perfectly coated with a small drop of blood, and the blood, for detecting active current of enzyme, completes an electric circuit which passes the active electrode and the reference electrode.
