Title:
ELECTRODELESS DISCHARGE LAMP LIGHTING UNIT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3419034
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable a start circuit being stable in operation point without being affected by the dispersion of a circuit element by lowering the sharpness of the resonance circuit of a start circuit thereby gentling a resonance curve.
CONSTITUTION: A resistor element 15, which gentles a resonance curve by lowering the sharpness of a parallel resonance circuit 16, is connected in parallel to the said resonance circuit 16. The junction between the third capacitor 9 to serve as a high voltage generation point and a circuit part 16 is connected through an electrode 26 for start to a gas probe 14b to constitute the energy injection point for start of an electrodeless discharge lamp 14. Hereby, each resonance curve of the start current at the time of having changed the capacity Csts of the capacitor 9 and a main current become gentle as compared with a conventional resonance curve. Accordingly, in case of securing a proper start current and a main current, a range wider than a conventional start range can be gotten, and a resonance curve is gentler, so stable operation without being affected by the dispersion of capacitors 9 and 11 or a start coil 10 can be secured.
