Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the intensity of irradiation with a specified wavelength in an electrodeless ultraviolet ray lamp by maintaining the vapor pressure in the lamp in a constant range through heat exchange between the lamp and fluid.
SOLUTION: A main body 19 of electrodeless ultraviolet ray lamp is positioned in a space 22 formed by a block 20 and a protection tube 21, and one end of narrow pipe 23 whose opposed ends are open is fixed to he block 20 while the other end is extended to a part near an end of the body 19. The protection pipe 21 and the tube 23 should be those through which microwave and ultraviolet rays having a desired wavelength are transmitted. A block 26 for holding the block 20 between a flange part 24 of the protection tube 21 and itself and fixing the same with a screw 25 is provided, and at the block 26, an inlet 28 and outlet 29 for heat exchange of fluid in a space 27 of the block 20 are formed. The outlet is connected to a space 22 via a space penetration tube 30.
