Title:
ELECTRODEPOSITED DIAMOND GRAINDING WHEEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS58114863
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce a quantity of a diamond, to make a cut favourable and to lengthen life, by a method wherein diamond abrasive grains having a small grain diameter are either electrodeposited sparsely on a bed metal or electrodeposited on the bed metal other than a groove processed on it.

CONSTITUTION: An electrodeposited diamond grinding wheel provided with grooves is constituted by forming slant grooves 2 on the external circumference of a base metal 1 at fixed intervals and by electrodepositing comparatively small diamond abrasive grains (#140W#240) on the external circumference of the bed metal 1 other than parts of the grooves 2, in the electrodeposited diamond grinding wheel suitable for grinding processing of ceramics, such as ferromagnet. As a result of experiment by making use of alumina (HV=1,200) as a grinding sample, it was revealed that compared with a conventional grinding wheel this one can make vertical grinding resistance smaller, and its cut is favourable and life is long. In addition to the above, saving of resources resulting from reduction of diamond abrasive grains become possible.
