Abstract:

To obtain a low noise, compact and low price actuator by fitting a holder having a wound coil to slide on the installation surface, providing a permanent magnet isolated by a predetermined distance from the coil and reciprocally moving the holder by applying a pulse current to the coil.

Magnetic circuits 6, 6 are respectively formed of coils 12, 12 wound at both ends of the holder 4 and a plurality of permanent magnets 14,..., 14 isolated by a predetermined distance in the vertical direction from the coil 12 in each side of the holder 4. When an energizing current is applied, a force is applied to the coil 12 based on the Fleming's left-hand rule and the holder 4 moves in the direction of force along a linear guide 10. Therefore, when a pulse energizing current is applied to the coils 12, 12, the coils 12, 12 makes reciprocal movement integrally with the holder 4. That is, an actuator converts electric energy to mechanical energy. Thereby, the other portions except for the sliding portion of the holder 4 are placed in the non-contact condition to reduce generation of noise.
