PURPOSE: To provide an electrohydraulic pump load control system reduced in noises and power consumption.

CONSTITUTION: This system includes a fluid-cooled integrated electric motor/ hydraulic pump 34 for delivering fluid under pressure to an accumulator 20, and stabilizes the output pressure of the pump 12, and accommodates changes in fluid flow. A pressure sensor 22 is coupled to the accumulator to provide an electrical signal as a function of fluid pressure at the accumulator 20. The electronic controller applies electrical power to a pump motor 14, and is responsive to the electrical signal from a pressure sensor 22 for terminating application of electrical power to the pump motor when the pressure at the accumulator 20 reaches the desired threshold. The electronic controller 28 of the motor 14 controls both application and termination of the electrical power to the motor 14 to energize and de-energize the motor at the predetermined rates responsive to the pressure differential thresholds at the pressure sensor.
