Display data are inputted to an EL display panel beforehand, all picture elements are lighted and the luminance of the respective picture elements at the time is measured. The average value of the luminance measured values of the respective picture elements is calculated, a difference from the average value is calculated further and the difference is stored in a correction information memory as a correction value. The correction value is added to the display data in an adder and inputted to the EL display panel.
