Abstract:
To provide an electrolyte solvent formulation with improved battery performance under a high temperature cycling condition and with improved room temperature storage and stability of an electrolyte.SOLUTION: An electrolyte composition includes at least one electrolyte component including a cyclic carbonate such as fluoroethylene carbonate, and at least one additive containing a 6-membered ring heterocyclic sulfate such as 1,3 propylene sulfate, and further includes a further electrolyte component such as a fluorinated acyclic carboxylic acid ester, a further additive such as lithium boron compound, and a cyclic carboxylic anhydrides such as maleic anhydride. These electrolyte compositions become useful in electrochemical cells such as lithium ion batteries.SELECTED DRAWING: None
