Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for suppressing generation of hydrogen gas upon generation of an ion concentration gradient by a temperature responsive electrolyte.SOLUTION: An electrolyte contains a temperature responsive electrolyte and a redox reactive species. The temperature responsive electrolyte is an electrolyte whose pKa changes according to the temperature. A power generator 100 generates electric power by using the electrolyte. The power generator 100 includes a positive electrode 3, a negative electrode 4, a heating mechanism 6, and a cooling mechanism 5, and the positive electrode 3 and the negative electrode 4 are immersed in the electrolyte, and the heating mechanism 6 heats the electrolyte in the vicinity of one of the positive electrode 3 and the negative electrode 4, and the cooling mechanism 5 cools the electrolyte in the vicinity of the other of the positive electrode 3 and the negative electrode 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
