Abstract:
To provide a technique capable of producing gas by reduction of carbon dioxide with a high efficiency and in a continuous and stable manner.SOLUTION: An electrolysis cell for gas production has an anode tank, a cathode tank, and an ion exchange membrane between the anode tank and the cathode tank. The cathode tank includes a cathode that generates gas using carbon dioxide and water as raw materials and a cathode solution of pH 6-8 containing ammonium salts and/or amine compounds.
