Title:
ELECTROLYTIC CLEANING METHOD FOR STEEL STRIP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS62235500
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To thoroughly prevent the seizure of a steel strip during annealing by actually measuring the deposition of SiO2 sticking to the surface of the steel strip during electrolytic cleaning of the steel strip and controlling current quantity and line speed with preference to the current quantity in such a manner that the actually measured value thereof attain a specific value. CONSTITUTION:The polarity of the final electrode 3-e is made anode and the current quantity and line speed are made variable. The steel strip 1 is electrolytically cleaned by the soln. contg. the SiO2 as the base in an electrolytic cell 2. The steel strip 1 after electrolytic cleaning is rinsed and dried and the SiO2 deposition thereof is measured by a measuring instrument 5 prior to coiling 10. The average deposition in the longitudinal direction thereof is determined. The current quantity is so determined by an arithmetic unit 6 from the line speed actually measured with a bridle roll 9 and the SiO2 deposition that the SiO2 deposition attains 1.0-3.0mg/m<2>. The electrolytic cleaning of the steel strip 1 is thus executed at the electrolytic current controlled by an current quantity control device 7. The line speed is decreased to obtain the desired SiO2 deposition when the determined current quantity value exceeds the equipment capacity.
