Abstract:
PURPOSE:To polish the inside surface of the upper end plate part of a vessel in a uniform and good state by pressing and rolling a roller type electrode coated with a liquid impregnating mat by a supporting device to carrying up an electrolyte onto the mat at the time of electrolytic polishing. CONSTITUTION:A polishing unit 12 is formed of the roller type electrode 14 which is coated on the outer periphery with the liquid impregnating mat 13 and an electrolyte holding chamber 15 partially enclosing the lower part thereof. The rear end of the electrolyte holding chamber 15 is lifted by a jack 17 to incline the axial line of the roller type electrode 14. The angle of inclination is so adjusted that the polishing unit 12 on the inside surface of the upper and plate part 2 of the vessel coincides with the tangent of the radial curvature in the radial position where the polishing unit 12 on the inside surface of the upper end plate 2 of the vessel exists. The roller type electrode 14 is brought into pressurized contact with the inside surface of the upper end plate part 2 of the vessel by the pressing force of a coil spring 10 and the elasticity of the liquid impregnating mat 13. The roller type electrode 14 rolls in the peripheral direction of the inside surface of the upper end plate 2 of the vessel and electrolytically polishes the region thereof if the polishing unit 12 and the electrode supporting device 4 are swiveled together with a central shaft 3 around its axial line.
