Title:
ELECTROLYTIC REDUCTION DEHALOGENATION METHOD FOR ACTIVATED CARBON ADSORBED ORGANIC HALIDE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2008272594
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method which enables the safe immunization of a toxic halide adsorbed by activated carbon by reductive dehalogenation with a simple operation at a low cost.

The reductive dehalogenation is performed on an organic halide using an electrolytic device where an activated carbon layer and a separator are piled up between the cathode and the anode in the electrolytic reduction of a harmful organic halide adsorbed by the activated carbon. In addition, the reductive dehalogenation and immunization of the organic halide are performed by conducting electrolysis while allowing an electrolyte to flow using a flow-type electrolytic device where the activated carbon layer and separator are piled up between the cathode and the anode.
