Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve simplification and compaction of an electromagnetic actuator, while increasing the holding force and the motive power.SOLUTION: An electromagnetic actuator includes bases 10, 20, permanent magnets 40, 50 fixed to the base, an air-core coil 60 for excitation held on the base, a movable yoke 70 passed through the air core of an air-core coil and supported rotatably on the base, and producing different magnetic poles on both end sides by electrification of the air-core coil, and an output section 80 connected with the movable yoke and outputting a torque to the outside. The movable yoke 70 has a supported side end 71 of substantially constant cross sectional area formed by bending into substantially L-shape, and supported rotatably on the base, and a movable side end 72 rotating in a predetermined angular range, and exerting a magnetic interaction force between it and a permanent magnet. With such an arrangement, an electromagnetic actuator generating a desired holding force or motive power, while achieving simplification, compaction, lightweight, and the like, of the structure, is obtained.
