Abstract:
The safety brake has at least one rotary coil carrier (2) supporting at least one magnetic coil (12) and an axially displaced spring-loaded armature disc (6), with an annular brake pad carrier (7) between the armature disc and the braked machine element (5), all components of the safety brake housed in a rotary hub of a drive disc (1). The annular brake pad carrier is secured to the end face of the drive disc facing the machine element and projects radially inwards to fit into the gap between the armature disc and the machine element.
