To perform automatic positioning of an armature and an electromagnet even when a brake lining is worn out in an electromagnetic brake.
An electromagnetic brake includes: a case for housing an electromagnet; a guide pin which is fixed to a housing of the electromagnetic brake and which supports the case in such a manner that it can move in an axial direction of a motor shaft; a restraining pin which is fixed to the case and which limits a distance in the axial direction of the motor shaft between the electromagnet and an armature within a predetermined range; and a position keeping member which keeps an axial position of the motor shaft of the electromagnet during the release of braking and which releases the keeping of the position during the braking.
