Abstract:
PURPOSE:To eliminate mechanical noise and to allow a longer service life due to lack of friction parts by enabling the control of transmission of large torque by means of very small pulse-like electrical input. CONSTITUTION:A motor has a fixedly attached gear 5b which is rotating in the direction of arrow. A yoke 7 is attached with an energizer coil 9. when energized, a lever 3 is locked, while when energizing is temporarily interrupted, the lever 3 is rotated by the force of a spring 6 to cause an eccentric gear 4 which is made one piece with a gear 4b to engage with the gear 5b, and so the gears 4b, 4 and a gear 2 which is connected to a load 1 are rotated. Due to the rotation of the gear 4, the lever 3 receives a counterclockwise torque which is proportionate to the load 1, and the gear 4 is strongly pressed against the gear 5b to ensure the power transmission. While the gears 5b, 13, 11 and a rotating wheel 12b are rotated, others remaining stationary when the energizer coil 9 is energized, upon a temporary interruption of energizing, the rotation of the lever 3 causes the rotating wheel 12a to be rotatingly pressed against the rotating wheel 12b so that the gear 4 can be engaged with the gear 5b smoothly as it rotates.
