To provide a power-off activated electromagnetic brake in which a shell and a yoke are arranged at an effective position and the shell and the yoke are fixed with adequate clamping force by clamping the shell and the yoke by means of press fitting without using another member such as a pin, and is excellent in downsizing, low cost and mass production, and to provide the novel structure of an electromagnetic coupling device.
The electromagnetic coupling device includes: the yoke; a disk which is arranged oppositely to the yoke and is arranged turnably around the reference shaft of the yoke; an armature which is arranged between the yoke and the disk and is arranged so as not to turnable around the reference shaft and so as to be movable in the reference shaft direction; an energizing part which energizes the armature against the disk; a cup-shaped shell which covers the disk and the armature and is arranged by press fitting to the outer circumferential end part of the yoke; and a cured treatment surface disposed on a part in contact with the yoke at least in the shell or a part in contact with the shell in the yoke.
