Abstract:
To exert damping force to earthquake vibrations exceeding assumption at designing, with a simple structure, without deteriorating base isolation performance to earthquake vibrations assumed in normal designing.SOLUTION: An electromagnetic damper 10A is equipped with a cylinder 12, and a rod 14 that is disposed so as to reciprocate on an axis of the cylinder 12 and projects out from both end portions of the cylinder 12. The electromagnetic damper includes a first magnet 16 disposed on an inner peripheral surface of the cylinder 12, and a second magnet 18 disposed on an outer peripheral surface of the rod 14. A radial direction inner side of the first magnet 16 and a radial direction outer side of the second magnet 18 have different magnetic poles, and at least one of the first magnet 16 and the second magnet 18 is configured by an electromagnet. The electromagnetic damper further includes a detecting portion 20 that detects a relative displacement amount of the cylinder 12 and the rod 14, and a control portion 100 that energizes the electromagnet when the relative displacement amount becomes a predetermined value or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
