To provide an electromagnetic device for torque transmission and its method of assembling wherein gap adjustment after assembly is easily made.
Between cam devices 8, 9, 10 and the wall surface 4A of a rotor4, a gap adjustment means 12 is arranged in the surface of a wall 1A of a differential case 1, via main clutch 3 and cam devices 8, 9, and 10, to specify axial direction gap adjustment means 12 to specify an axial clearance between the surface of the wall 1A of a differential case 1 and the wall surface 4A of a rotor 4, and the position of assembling a rotor 4 can be changed at the same time. An electromagnetic clutch is composed of an armature 7 attracted by the excitation of coil 6 and a pilot clutch which causes a relative rotation in order to operate cam devices 8, 9, and 10 and the pilot clutch 5 which generates a relative clockwise revolution. An armature 7 and the pilot clutch 5 are characterized by being annexed to the surface of the wall 4A of this rotor 4 between the axial directions of rotor 4 and the main clutch 3.
