Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent generation of impact sound and damage due to collision of an armature with an electromagnet by leading oil on an opposite surface of the electromagnet and the armature and mounting an oil discharge passage in a housing in an electromagnetic drive device using an electromagnet for switching an engine valve.
CONSTITUTION: An electromagnetic drive device for an engine valve V1 is equipped with respective electromagnets 11, 12 for opening a valve and closing the valve for sucking an armature 10 and opening/closing the engine valve V1 and respective return springs 13, 14 at the valve closing side and the valve opening side. In this case, an oil supply means 421 is mounted on the device to lead oil on an opposite surface of the respective electromagnets 11, 12 and the armature 10. This oil supply means 42. leads the oil to a hydraulic chamber 32 by actuation of an oil pump 38 in an oil reservoir 37 through a switch valve 39 and the oil in this hydraulic chamber 32 is led on a top face of the armature 10 through a throttle passage 43 provided in a piston 33 and this oil is discharged by way of a discharge passage 441 mounted on a housing end wall 15.
