To provide an electromagnetic engagement apparatus performing engagement using magnetic attraction force and torque cam reaction force as thrust while dividing a cam member and provided with a return spring biasing each cam member.
In this electromagnetic engagement apparatus 1 comprising: a cam mechanism 3 generating thrust in an axial line direction in accordance with a torque difference, for a pair of cam members 8, 9 disposed opposite each other in the axial line direction; and an attracting member 7 generating friction force by attraction, wherein engagement force between the cam members is increased by increasing the torque difference by the thrust pressing the cam member 8 to the attracting member 7 side, the electromagnetic engagement apparatus comprises an attracted member 8 attracted by the attracting member 7; a first return spring 4a exerting elastic force in the direction in which the attracted member 8 is separated from the attracting member 7; and a second return spring 4b exerting elastic force in a direction in which the cam member 9 is separated from the attracting member 7. The attracted member 8 is attached to one cam member 9 of the cam members while being integrated with the one cam member 9 in a manner relatively rotatable in the axial line direction.
