Title:
ELECTROMAGNETIC FLOWMETER FOR FLOW IN PIPE IS NOT FULLY FILLED
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04295723
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce a dead zone to approximately zero by providing a pair of electrodes on the protruding part of a top ridge which is extending at a right angle with the direction of the axis of a pipe and in the horizontal direction at the inner surface of the bottom part of a measuring pipe. CONSTITUTION:Under the state wherein an electromagnetic flowmeter for the flow in a pipe which is not filled fully is provided horizontally, a top ridge 13a is extending at a right angle with respect to the axial direction of the pipe in the horizontal direction. Both the upstream side and the downstream side of the top ridge 13a become slant surfaces 13b having the same slant angle including the top ridge 13a. A protruding part 13 having these parts is provided at the inner surface of the bottom part of a measuring device 11. A pair of electrodes 12 are arranged on the top ridge 13a of the protruding part 13 at a specified distance in the longitudinal direction. Since the protruding part 13 is present at the inner surface of the bottom part of the measuring chamber in this way, any minute flow rides over the protruding part 13 along the protruding part 13 and flows through. Therefore, the fluid is always in contact with the electrodes 12 arranged on the top ridge 13a, and the minute flow can be measured. Thus, the dead zone can be reduced into almost zero.
