To provide an electromagnetic interference inhibitor and a method of reducing electromagnetic interference with the beneficial effect of reducing electromagnetic interference over a wide frequency band.
An electromagnetic interference inhibitor 4 reduces electromagnetic interference generated by the interference of unnecessary electromagnetic waves and contains 30 to 80 vol% of flat soft magnetic powder and 20 to 70 vol% of binder. The electromagnetic interference inhibitor 4 (1) is pressurized and cross-linked with the binder with an actual specific gravity/theoretical specific gravity of 0.6 or larger, or (2) is pressurized and cross-linked with the binder with a surface resistivity of 104 Ω/square or larger, an actual specific gravity of 2.8 or larger. Further, d×μ">35 is established where d represents an actual specific gravity and μ" represents a complex relative permeability (imaginary part) at a specific frequency (100 MHz to 3 GHz) or d×μ'>25 is established where d represents an actual specific gravity and μ' represents a complex relative permeability (imaginary part) at a specific frequency (13.56 MHz and 100 MHz to 1 GHz).
