PURPOSE: To flatten frequency characteristics by inducing a voltage across an air-core coil directly by the variation of magnetic flux of an armature, thus eliminating harmful magnetic strain, and realizing flat transmission characteristics to very high range where no eddy current is generated.

CONSTITUTION: A stylus tip 17 is provided at one end of the cantilever 18 of the stylus structure part of an electromagnetic pickup cartridge, and an armature 19 is arranged at the other end; and the armature 19 is fitted in the lengthwise direction of the cantilever 18. Air-core printed coils 22 and 23 are arranged near the N pole of the armature 19 in the maximum sensitivity directions P1 and P2 of the modulated wall of a record disk, and yokes 20 and 21 made of magnetic materials are provided, facing each other, outside of the coils 22 and 23. Then, the armature 19 is oscillated corresponding to the speed amplitude of the tip 17 of the cantilever 18 and before the variation of magnetic flux is transferred to the yokes 20 and 21, the coils 22 and 23 generate electricity to obtain signals at output terminals 24 and 25, thereby feeding the variations of magnetic flux from the yokes 20 and 21 to the armature 19.
