The brake liquid in the pump chamber 17 is fed by pressure to a wheel cylinder 2 via a discharge port 51 and a pipe 7 while the end face of the piston 15 is moved to the discharge completion position from the maximum position, the pump chamber 17 is set to the sealed state instantaneously when the discharge port 51 is closed by the end face of the piston 15, and the pressure of the brake liquid in the pump chamber 17 rises quickly. The pressure in the pump chamber 17 is applied in the direction to expand the pump chamber 17, and it is balanced with the force of the plunger 34 applied in the direction to narrow the pump chamber 17, the piston 15 is stopped before reaching the maximum movable position, and the occurrence of a shock sound is suppressed.
