PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of a shock sound by forming the stroke length of a plunger longer than the effective stroke length, closing a brake liquid discharge port after a piston exceeds the effective stroke length, and stopping the piston via the compression of the brake liquid.

CONSTITUTION: When a coil 30 is excited, a plunger 34 is sucked by a core 31, and a piston 15 is moved in the direction to narrow a pump chamber 17. The brake liquid in the pump chamber 17 is fed by pressure to a wheel cylinder 2 via a discharge port 51 and a pipe 7 while the end face of the piston 15 is moved to the discharge completion position from the maximum position, the pump chamber 17 is set to the sealed state instantaneously when the discharge port 51 is closed by the end face of the piston 15, and the pressure of the brake liquid in the pump chamber 17 rises quickly. The pressure in the pump chamber 17 is applied in the direction to expand the pump chamber 17, and it is balanced with the force of the plunger 34 applied in the direction to narrow the pump chamber 17, the piston 15 is stopped before reaching the maximum movable position, and the occurrence of a shock sound is suppressed.
