Abstract:

To enhance efficiency and control stability by applying a magnetic field perpendicularly to the flow direction to a flow path for making a liquid conductor flow and at the same time energizing a pair of electrodes and hydrodynamically series-connecting each flow path so that each output direction of a conductive type electromagnetic pump unit accords.

An electrode 22a disposed above a lower conductor 22 and an electrode 22b disposed below an upper conductor 22 form a pair of electrodes. A flow path is connected to an adjacent unit by a connection flow path 21b which is formed in an insulating structure body 24 and bent in a U-shape. Since the directions of magnetic flux of adjacent units are opposite to each other and the drive force of an identical direction works in all driving flow paths and those are connected so as to be added in the flow paths, a large pressure is generated in the whole of the flow paths. The flow paths of two pump units are disposed on both sides of one conductor having the electrode of two parallel planes to collectively form a number of pump units, thereby being able to achieve miniaturization and light weight.
