Title:
ELECTROMAGNETIC PUMP FOR MOLTEN METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2009262169
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To sufficiently tighten a flange 10 of a core 2 even when using a screw plug 4 being insufficient in elasticity and fragile and to secure sealing property at the core 2 and an end of a protecting tube 3.

An electromagnetic pump for a molten metal has a cylindrical duct 1 having thermal resistance, an inductor 14 for generating a moving magnetic field in the duct 1, a core 2 arranged in the duct 1 and composed of a magnetic material forming the magnetic path of the moving magnetic field generated at the inductor 14, and the sheath-like protecting tube 3 storing the core 2, being arranged in the duct 1 and having the thermal resistance. The core 2 is inserted into the protecting tube 3 from the opening at one end thereof, and the opening of the protecting tube 3 is closed by the flange 10 arranged at the one end of the core 2. The screw plug 4 is screwed into the opening of the protecting tube 3 and the flange 10 of the core 2 is pressed to the opening of the protecting tube 3 by sandwiching a gasket 12 composed of an expansible graphite sheet.
