Title:
ELECTROMAGNETIC PUMP FOR MOLTEN METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2009262220
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To prevent generation of eddy current of a core 2 or reduce it, while preventing the vibration of the core caused by the reduction means of the eddy current, and to eliminate the heating of the core or reduction of thrust of molten metal.

An electromagnetic pump for the molten metal has a cylindrical duct 1 having thermal resistance which passes the molten metal, an inductor 14 which generates a moving magnetic field in the duct 1, the core 2 arranged in the duct 1 and composed of a magnetic material forming the magnetic path of the moving magnetic field generated at the inductor 14, and a sheath-like protecting tube 3 storing the core 2, being arranged in the duct 1 and having the heat resistance. An annular flow path 19 through which the molten metal passes is formed between the protecting tube 3 and the duct 1. A groove 17 for preventing the generation of the eddy current or reducing it is formed at the outer circumference of the core 2, and a filler 20 composed of mica or a carbon cloth or an expansible graphite sheet interposed between the mica is filled into the groove 17.
