PURPOSE: To sufficiently secure a contact pressure between contacts, and maintain a distance between a contact terminal and a coil terminal constant in an electromagnetic relay employable for various industrial equipment.

CONSTITUTION: A predetermined clearance A=A'+A" is provided between the end portion of an iron core 4 and the end portion of a coil bobbin 1. Accordingly, the relative position between the iron core 4 and the coil bobbin 1 can be adjusted by a quantity of the clearance. When the relative position between an electromagnet assembly and a base block assembly is adjusted, after a movable contact and a fixed contact are brought into contact with each other, the position of the iron core 4 is adjusted by the quantity of the clearance A so that the movable contact is displaced to a side of the fixed contact by predetermined displacement, thus securing a preset contact following quantity. Furthermore, if the position of the coil bobbin 1 is adjusted as required, a distance between a coil terminal and a contact terminal can be maintained constant.
