Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve electromagnetic shielding property, strength, heat resistance and fire resistance by kneading blast furnace slag with a water-soluble polymer, an alkaline material, a magnetic material and/or an electric conductive material and water and carrying out molding and wet curing.

CONSTITUTION: Blast furnace slag having ≥2,000cm2/g Blaine value is blended with 1-25wt.% water-soluble polymer having a mol.wt. of ≥10,000, 0.1-5wt.% alkaline material and 0.005-2,000wt.% magnetic material and/or electric conductive material to obtain a hydraulic compsn. Water is added to this compsn. by 5-100wt.% of the amt. of the blast furnace slag and they are kneaded, molded and wetcured at room temp. to 100°C in a highly humid atmosphere having ≥80% relative humidity.
