The electromagnetic suspension device for the vehicle is provided with an electromagnetic actuator 4 interposed between an upper side of a spring and a lower side of the spring in parallel with a spring element 7 and driven by an electric motor 8, and a motor controller 17 calculating a displacement input to the electromagnetic actuator 4 and controlling the electric motor 8 to have optimum damping force in accordance with the displacement input. An electric damping element (an electric resistor 20 or an electric resonant circuit 21) passively generating the damping force with the generative braking of the electric motor 8 with respect to the displacement input from the lower side of the spring is connected to a control circuit of the electric motor 8 in parallel.
