To provide an electromagnetic switch in which total plate thickness of a disc part 51 can be set arbitrarily, and optimization of cross-sectional area of disk part 51 is easy in designing of a magnetic circuit.
The disc part 51 of a fixed iron core 5 is formed by laminating a plurality pieces of metal plates 52, in which the boss part 50b of the base part 50 is press-fitted into a round hole formed in the respective metal plate 52 and fixed to the base part 50. Among the plurality of metal plates 52, at least one metal plate 52 has a plate thickness different from those of other metal plates 52, and for example, a metal plate 52 (thick plate 52a), having a thicker thickness than that of other plates or the metal plate 52 (thin plate) having a smaller thickness than that of other plates, is used. By this, the total thickness of the disk part 51 can be set arbitrarily, as compared with the case when only the metal plates 52 of the same plate thickness are used. As a result, optimization of the cross-sectional area of the disk part 51 in the designing of the magnetic circuit is easy, and the flexibility in the design of the magnetic circuit is improved.
