To provide an electromagnetic ultrasonic sensor that has satisfactory sensitivity and can easily be composed, in the case where SH waves of high frequency and short wavelength are required.
An electromagnetic ultrasonic sensor 11 comprises: a coil 13 arranged with a space left from a body to be inspected; and a magnet array 15 arranged on the coil 13. The magnet array 15 comprises: a first magnet array in which first permanent magnets are arranged at fixed intervals in a direction x which is the direction of electric current flowing in the coil 13; and a second magnet array in which second permanent magnets are arranged at fixed intervals in the direction x. The first permanent magnets and the second permanent magnets obliquely face each other with the contact faces of the first and second magnet arrays between them.
